The presence of Mr Gupta here in Vrinda Kunja is very significant. Imagine that the official executive of your town come to your temple or take prasadam with you almost daily! Here in India, the official executive is a more important post than the chairman or the chief magistrate. He is the one who decides and executes everything here in Vrindavan and now also in Mathura.
Prakasananda prabhu is an expert on multimedia. In one day he has made a presentation of the Krishna Lila Park project at Macromedia Director Studio. If you see it, you will find it very nice. We cannot upload it on Hotline, as the archive is big, but what we have managed to upload from here, is the super nectar classes in English with Guru Maharaj, telling personal stories with his spiritual masters for the new book Sato Vritteh. They are archives in zip format, more than 6 classes of more than 1 ½ hour each.
Guru Maharaj asked me to talk a little about the theme Vrinda Patriotism. As usual, Guru Maharaj got up very early this morning, and he had hardly woke up, when he started to dictate a letter for all mothers, based on a letter he received from a devotee woman. It is a very special letter where Guru Maharaj once more reminds us of the importance to be very attached to the spiritual master, as the only way to solve all our problems. The theme of Vrinda patriotism and this letter has essentially the same message and the same desire of Guru Maharaj. Guru Maharaj asks us affectionately that we each day get more and more attached to him. It will be uploaded soon. Please, read it and distribute it.
Today after the class, Gur Maharaj visited Srila B.G. Narasimgha Maharaj and Srila Vishnu Maharaj. Narasimgha Maharaj is Acarya of a mission, and his math is in the south of India. He said to our Guru Maharaj: "You are a great preacher, and when I think of who are the best sons of Srila Prabahupada who preach as he wanted, I think of you as the first person on that list." Such a comment from an Acarya, a spiritual brother of Guru Maharaj, is very significant, and more from him who is famous for his profound wisdom and very close to Srila Prabhupada for many years.
Guru Maharaj is in good health. Sometimes he has pain in his knees, but a good massage of the knee, gives some alleviation. All nights he continues his Hindi studies. His desk is full of papers with words in Hindi that he is practicing.
All this last week, Guru Maharaj is working with the book of the Yoga Inbound School. There are still some things missing that Guru Maharaj is investigating in many books in his big personal library in his office in Vrindavan. This book is advancing quickly and at the same time Guru Maharaj is directing the development of the new book about the mission that will be published together with the book of the anniversary of his 50 years in October 2003. Prakasananda prabhu is still in the phase of selecting the content and together we are working on this for this presentation to be original.
Guru Maharaj is an infinite source of nectar, so at least I try to use these months in India with Guru Maharaj to capture something of so much nectar to understand better his instructions and not fall any more to do the things my way, something that Guru Maharaj commented as the most dangerous in spiritual life:
"When your Guru is present in the world, never think that you can do the things better, neither that you understand the things better than he does, or even worse that you do not need the Guru. Of course, you can have a better idea, but you need the blessings to carry it through. Also if you have any doubt about my instructions, you can look for me and ask me. They often tell me, that due to my growing mission and the many temples and more devotees, I get each time less accessible or less personal, but that is not true. I feel each time more accessible, one can communicate directly with me by mail, by phone by chat, by email, by my office, by my emergency office and furthermore, my door is always open, etc. I can know who is really a leader in my mission, and that is the one who cares about understanding what I am doing, what I want, and tries to practice it faithfully, always consulting me, studying my instructions, reporting me the successes and sharing this with others. Only like that, you can be successful. If you do not want to do that, than you can open your own missions yourselves. At the same time I always listen to everybody and talk at Istagostis about how to do the things better for Srila Prabhupada. If a leader is not the first one to want to know the latest news and instructions from his guru, perhaps it is because he does no longer need a guru or because he has already became guru. Well, but first of all they have to be good disciples, otherwise, what kinds of gurus will they be? This instruction is for all my disciples, since for me they are all leaders, or it is my desire that all become leaders."
Every day, Guru Maharaj gives us nectar like the above, and sometimes he simply takes the accordion and starts to play and sing for an hour or more. Other times, Guru Maharaj calls his spiritual brothers o the phone and invites them to take prasadam, other times he walks in Vrinda Kunja chanting his rounds.
Guru Maharaj went today (December 26) to, accompanied by prabhu Prakasananda. In Delhi he will attend a reunion to define the last aspects of the project of the Krishna Lila Park. The travel he is doing together with the Chairman and the E.O. Mr Gupta.
